Dog Bites Four-Year-Old In Face

A four-year-old girl is recovering in hospital after she was bitten in the face by a large dog at her home in Coventry.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said a crew was called to the property in Stoke Aldermoor after reports that a girl had been attacked.
The spokesman said a child was found with severe bites to her face and scratches to other parts of her body.
She was taken from the house to the ambulance and transferred to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.
The spokesman told the BBC: "The crew was told the dog was a Rottweiler or similar. The crew remarked that despite her injuries, the girl was very brave about her condition."

"People who own dogs that are potentially dangerous need to consider the consequences of failing to heed the risks to others. As well as owners supervising children with the dog at home it is also necessary to teach them how to act around the dog as simple measures can be taken to avoid dog attacks at home."
