Refuse Collector Killed At Work

A bin lorry has hit and killed a refuse collector in Bath, Avon near Somerset.

The man, in his 50s was involved in the incident involving a rubbish cart on Friday, April 11 at Adams Close, Peasedown St John.

A police spokesperson has said that investigations are ongoing and the road has been cordoned off by police.

David Urpeth, a Partner at law firm Irwin Mitchell said: "Employers have a duty of care to provide employees with a safe place and safe system of work to avoid work accidents.

"Whilst the circumstances of this tragic case are not yet fully known, something went tragically wrong leading to this industrial accident.

"I represent many workers who have been injured or killed in accidents at work."
