Breast cancer screening errors

More than 2500 women may have received incorrect test results after breast cancer screening in two Manchester hospitals. Women screened at Trafford General and North Manchester General hospitals from April 2003 to April 2005 are said to be affected. Urgent reviews of all scans are being conducted and an employee has been suspended as a result. The incorrect test results affect only women referred to the hospitals by their GP and not women involved in the NHS Breast Cancer Screening Programme. In May of this year, concerns about the accuracy of breast cancer test results from an Essex hospital also prompted an urgent review of scans taken from almost 6000 women.

Incorrect test results can result in a delay in diagnosis or treatment. If such a delay has resulted in injury or loss, it may be possible for you to pursue a claim for compensation.
