Irwin Mitchell recently acted on behalf of a client who suffered personal injury whilst shopping in Sainsbury's in Kingschase Shopping Centre, Kingswood Birmingham.

Our client had bent down to pick up a shopping basket which was positioned within the basket stand inside the store.  As he did this, a Sainsbury's employee dropped several metal baskets into the stand directly on top of Mr. Singh's hand.

As a result of the accident our client suffered bruising and a soft tissue injury to the left thumb and injuries to the index finger.  These injuries resulted in a slight but fixed loss of extension at the joint of the left thumb and some evidence of degenerative change within the joint.

Our expert Public Liability team acted on behalf of the client in this case, and liability was admitted by the defendants.  A positive outcome was achieved and the case was eventually settled for £5,250.
