On 23rd May 2008, Mr Cameron was returning from holiday, travelling from Glasgow to Elgin. He was in the rear seat of a car being driven by his then partner, only a few miles from home, when they encountered a section of the road which had recently been resurfaced. The road had loose chips lying on the road way. On coming around a bend the driver lost control and the car skidded off the road, striking a tree before coming to rest.
As a consequence of the accident, Mr Cameron sustained multiple injuries including a broken left forearm, broken left shoulder, a slight tear to his left lung and cracked ribs on his right hand side. The most serious being a spinal injury, dislocation of L1 and bruised nerve endings of the spinal cord, and post traumatic stress disorder.
Mr Cameron, formally a security manager, will be unable to return to his former employment as he has restricted ability and is largely dependant on a wheel chair. Having investigated and pursued the various elements of this claim, such as wage loss, loss of pension entitlement and future care costs, settlement was recently agreed and Mr Cameron received a substantial six figure sum.
Mr Cameron was delighted with the outcome and said "I couldn't fault the service that I received from Irwin Mitchell".
