A man walking along a pathway clipped his foot on a raised blockwork and fell headlong onto his face into a gulley. The pathway runs from the car park of Ludgvan Football Club to the playing fields and although the car park was illuminated, the path was in darkness.

Our client suffered fractures to his upper and lower teeth and a cut through his lower lip with extensive bleeding from his mouth.  His lower teeth were embedded into his lower lip.  Two upper teeth were pushed into his jaw bone and another tooth was fractured.  He also twisted his right ankle, wrist and elbow.

Experiencing significant pain, unable to eat or speak normally, our client was placed on a soft food diet, taking regular analgesia and antibiotic.  He was employed as a Watch Manager Control for the Emergency Fire Services and due to his speech difficulties he was unable to operate the telephone and he lost out on overtime.

Irwin Mitchell’s personal injury specialists helped our client to secure an out of court settlement of £13,650.
