Irwin Mitchell has assisted a cyclist to claim compensation after a pothole caused him to fall off his bike.

Our client was cycling to work in London in November 2009. He reached a junction near Union Street and was caused to fall off his bike by a pothole that had formed in the road.

The fall caused our client to graze his hand and jaw and he sustained a 3 centimetre laceration to his chin. His physical injuries resolved within a week but it took a month for anxieties to resolve and his sleep to improve. He has been left with a small scar.

We brought a claim against the local council who admitted liability for our client's injuries and an out of court settlement of £1,400 was reached.
