Irwin Mitchell's Road Traffic Team has assisted a cyclist to obtain compensation after he was knocked off his bike.

Our client was crossing a zebra crossing on his bicycle. The lights for oncoming traffic were at red when the driver of another vehicle drove through the red light and hit our client causing him to fall from his bike onto his wrist.

He suffered immediate pain to his left side and a broken left wrist as well as bruising to his leg. Following the accident our client had his hand in plaster for six weeks, had to be assisted with dressing and had difficulty in looking after his young daughter and performing domestic chores. Heavy lifting made his symptoms worse, he was unable to play football or to cycle. He also had to take time off work due to the injuries and underwent physiotherapy.

Irwin Mitchell were able to assist this client in recovering £7,000 in compensation and the other driver admitted liability for the incident.
