A man has received compensation after his teeth were broken during operation.

Mr S was admitted to a private hospital in Glasgow for a gastroscopy.

He was given a general anaesthetic whereby he was intubated for the procedure and then extubated after the procedure.  After the extubation procedure a guedel airway was inserted before Mr S was taken to the recovery room.  This instrument keeps the airway open.

When Mr S awoke from the anaesthetic he found that two of his front crowns were missing and had been broken. As a result, Mr S had to have two new crowns made and fitted.

Mr S was represented by David Bell, a personal injury specialist from Irwin Mitchell Scotland’s Glasgow office, who successfully settled his claim.
