A woman has received £32,000 in compensation following an accident at work, involving a horse.

The woman was employed as a groom and was injured when she was kicked in the face by a horse she was clipping. She sustained facial injuries including a fractured nose, separation of the bridge of the nose and broken front teeth which were pushed back into the roof of her mouth.

As a result of the injuries she sustained in the accident she required several operations to repair the damage to her face, including a bone graft taken from her hip to repair her nose.

Cathryn Godfrey, represented the client and said: “The compensation my client received will enable her to receive further restorative treatment in relation to facial implants, to restore her teeth and to cover the cost of treatment that will be required in the future.

“She was very conscious about her appearance following the accident and was very low in confidence. The treatments, including the cosmetic surgery required in order to restore the appearance of her teeth, would not have been fully available on the NHS. She is now making a full recovery and has been able to regain some of the confidence she lost.”
