We acted for Mr and Mrs C and their son who stayed at the Miami Beach Hotel in Ibiza in July 1997. Their holiday was meant to celebrate their son passing his GCSEs but it was spoiled when failures in food hygiene practices caused Mrs C to become ill just 3 days into the holiday.
JMC Holidays Ltd acknowledged that they were at fault and paid damages to our clients. Mrs C was ill for nearly 6 months in total and she received compensation of just over £5,300. Mr C and their son were not ill but their holiday was ruined by Mrs C’s illness, and to reflect that fact they were awarded around £2,500 each.
