Liz Norris was instructed by a young lady who, upon the reliance on a mortgage valuation report, had purchased a property. The surveyor failed to highlight several major structural defects within the property.

When she later attempted to sell the property, a Structural Engineers Report was carried out for the purchase, and it came to light that there was several major defects that had not been noted in the mortgage valuation report carried out by her surveyor.

Consequently, Liz's client successfully claimed that she would not have purchased the property had all of this information been provided in the mortgage valuation report. Using expert evidence we were able to determine that the value of the property had been significantly affected by the surveyor's failure. Our client was thrilled to recover a substantial proportion of this amount in settlement.
