Road Crash

A Shropshire man has reached an out of Court settlement of damages in respect of multiple injuries he sustained in a high speed road crash.

He sustained multiple orthopaedic injuries and internal organ damage when his vehicle was struck by a drunk driver.

The drunk driver had spent the afternoon drinking in a pub and had decided to get in his car to go to another pub. In the course of his journey, he pulled across the road directly into the path of the victim's vehicle, causing an unavoidable head on collision.

Stephen Nye, Partner in our Birmingham office handled the claim and commented; "This was a very serious incident in which my client sustained very serious injuries, which have left him with lifelong disabilities. The accident was of course entirely avoidable, had the other driver simply decided not to get in his car, having consumed a large amount of alcohol. He himself died in the accident, making it all the more tragic. My client's award will provide him with financial support in the future, it being unlikely he will ever be able to return to work because of his injuries."
