Our workplace accident experts helped a man to claim compensation after he was injured by falling objects at work.
Our client, Edward, was employed as a Truck Driver/Team Leader. As part of his job he used a ‘Reach truck' to move pallets from one location to another. On one occasion, after picking up the pallet he reversed the truck and lowered the forks to the relevant height. As he turned his truck, bottles of juice showered down around him. Two bottles struck Edward's hip after falling approximately 20 feet. He felt immediate pain and was unable to weight-bear.
Edward sustained bad bruising and injured ligaments in his right hip. He was unable to go out shopping or socialising, play football with his son or pick up his young daughter. He was also unable to drive following the accident and experienced problems getting up and down stairs. Edward also needed time off work and underwent a course of physiotherapy.
We helped Edward claim £3,000 compensation in an out of court settlement in November 2011.
