By sharing knowledge and working collaboratively, we are able to have a greater impact on the issues that matter the most.
Reducing our environmental impact
Like many organisations, we recognise that our activities can have an impact upon the environment at various levels. It is our responsibility to work hard to promote a proactive approach to the environment.
As a result we are working with our people, suppliers and contractors to address environmental issues. Our Environmental Policy sets out our approach.
We are currently working towards IS0 14000 - The Environmental Management Standard.
Climate change and carbon footprint
We understand that some of our activities can contribute to increasing the level of greenhouse gases which are linked to global warming and climate. We continue to monitor our carbon footprint as a result of our energy usage and business travel.
We are also implementing initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint such as an increased focus on recycling, encouraging the use of video conferencing, promoting car sharing and the use of public transport.
Recycling and waste
We are actively working towards reducing waste that goes to landfill by the introduction of recycling schemes for paper, plastics, glass, cans, and toner cartridges. We are encouraging a greater use of electronic communication, rather than on paper.
Obsolete equipment is disposed of in line with the required environmental legislation.
We want our operations to have minimal impact upon the environment and we are working to improve our environmental performance. As part of this, we work with our suppliers and contractors to ensure that their operations are consistent with ours in reducing any environmental impact.
