Reducing our environmental impact

Like many organisations, we recognise that we have a social and corporate responsibility and that our activities can have an impact upon the environment at various levels. As a responsible firm we work hard to promote a proactive approach to the environment.

As a result we are working with our people, suppliers and contractors to address environmental issues. Our Environmental Policy sets out our approach.

We are currently working towards IS0 14000 - The Environmental Management Standard.

Climate change and carbon footprint

We understand that some of our activities can contribute to increasing the level of greenhouse gases which are linked to global warming and climate. We are currently determining our carbon footprint as a result of our energy usage and business travel.

We will then implement active programmes to reduce our carbon emissions.

We currently encourage the use of video conferencing, car sharing, and use of public transport to reduce travel.

Recycling and waste

We are actively working towards reducing waste that goes to landfill by the introduction of recycling schemes for paper, plastics, glass, cans, and toner cartridges.  We are encouraging a greater use of electronic communication, rather than on paper.

Obsolete equipment is disposed of in line with the required environmental legislation.

We work with our suppliers and contractors to ensure that their operations are consistent with ours in reducing any environmental impact.

We want our operations to have minimal impact upon the environment and we are working to improve our environmental performance.
